This is great advice, but I'm going to temper it a little bit, because I see a way that someone could misinterpret it.

Just like engineers take on more than they can handle, managers have terrible boundaries. It's important to work with people to cultivate a great environment that minimizes these feelings, but as a manager, you can feel like "curing" your directs' impostor syndrome is your responsibility. This is a harmful mistake. Impostor syndrome can be wrapped up in years or decades of accreted emotional baggage. While you want to be open and show a certain degree of vulnerability with your directs or mentees, and provide them advice, you are not licensed or trained as a therapist. It is not a skill you want to try to learn on the job. You need to figure out pretty quickly where that boundary is for you, and figure out how you might want to gently nudge people in the direction of someone qualified in the event that someone in your circle of influence is asking more from you than you might be competent at delivering on.
