So the guy who just got promoted to sysadmin just got the actual offer today. $34k. The other sysadmins make $40k. He couldn't negotiate because it was "negotiated for him" by the CIO and the corporate IT manager, and supposedly they even "bumped it up" from where it was. gently caress that. You want to keep a relevant skill set in case something happens to your job.

Salary is great for the the size of my city and raises have been regular.
